Vive Crop Protection Receives U.S. EPA Registration for Bifender® Duo, a New Hybrid Solution for Soil Insects and Nematodes
TORONTO, Ontario (September 23, 2026) – Vive Crop Protection is pleased to announce that Bifender® Duo has received federal registration from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, giving growers a new hybrid soil insecticide that combines proven synthetic chemistry with biological technology in a single, easy-to-use product.
Bifender Duo pairs bifenthrin with a biopesticide active ingredient from ProFarm™, giving growers two distinct modes of action against soil insects along with nematocidal activity.
“Bifender Duo gives growers something they’ve been asking for: broad, reliable protection against soil insects and nematodes in a single product,” said Marie Yeager, Senior Product Manager for Bifender Duo at Vive Crop Protection. “Pairing a proven synthetic like bifenthrin with a new biological mode of action means growers get the performance they already trust, plus an added layer of protection they haven’t had before.”
The biological active ingredient in Bifender Duo, developed and manufactured by ProFarm, was registered by the EPA as a new active ingredient in 2025. Vive developed Bifender Duo in close collaboration with ProFarm, working through changes to the formulation with Vive’s Precision Chemistry™ Technology, as it was optimized for commercial-scale production.

Vive is now pursuing state registrations for Bifender Duo, with key state approvals expected by February 1, 2027.
