Darren Anderson PhD • CEO

Darren Anderson is a member of Vive’s Board of Directors and was appointed CEO in July 2019. Dr. Anderson previously held a number of roles including President of Vive, Chief Technology Officer (overseeing the development of Vive’s Allosperse® Delivery Technology), as well as Regulatory Affairs and Communications leadership positions. Throughout this time, Vive successfully obtained regulatory approval for the first nanotechnology-enabled products by the US EPA. He is the author of 13 issued patents, 44 pending applications, 10 refereed papers, and over 40 conference presentations and publications. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Toronto as an NSERC Doctoral Fellow.

Jordan Dinglasan PhD • VP Product Development

Jordan Dinglasan earned his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Toronto where he helped develop Vive’s patented Allosperse® technology. Dinglasan is one of the co-founders of Vive Crop Protection.

Dan Bihlmeyer VP Sales and Marketing

Dan Bihlmeyer leads the Sales and Marketing team at Vive and is responsible for introducing new fertilizer-compatible products to the marketplace and growing the FC business.

 

Dan has many years of sales and marketing experience in crop protection, seed, biotechnology and the coatings industry from work with BASF and Syngenta in the US, Canadian and global marketplaces. He grew up on a dairy farm and holds a B.Sc. in Agri-Business Management from Michigan State University and an MBA from Kenan Flagler Business School at The University of North Carolina.

Barbara Hopper CPA, CA • CFO and VP Operations

Barbara is responsible for finance, operational efficiency, production and logistics. She has diverse experience in project management, strategic planning, business transformation, financial management and mergers & acquisitions from working at Canada Goose, Soroc Technology, TIM-BR Mart, Household Financial and Sony Canada. Barb is a CPA and received her BA in Commerce from the University of Toronto.

Jeffrey Buchholz JD • Senior Counsel

Jeff Buchholz covers all legal and intellectual property matters as Senior Counsel at Vive. He was previously an IP lawyer at Choate, Hall and Stewart and is admitted to the Massachusetts and U.S. Patent bars. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Chemical Engineering) from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a JD from Cornell University.

Keith Thomas Executive Chair

Keith Thomas is a proven entrepreneur and was most recently CEO of Vive Crop Protection during its startup and rapid growth phase. Previously, Keith was CEO of Vector Innovations, which was backed by a number of well-regarded venture firms and successfully exited. He has led a number of large-scale projects, restructuring companies in 3 countries at New York-based Tandon Capital, managing strategy and operations projects at Booz Allen & Hamilton and completing corporate finance transactions at Citibank in the US and Europe. He is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and a Governor of the University of Toronto. He holds an M.B.A. from Columbia University, an M.A. in Economics and a B.A.Sc. in Engineering from the University of Toronto.

William Lambert Director

Bill Lambert is a former Partner at Birch Hill Equity Partners (TD Capital), a private equity partnership that has $1.7 billion in capital under management. Birch Hill is a leader in mid-market buyout private equity in Canada. Bill has sat on the boards of several companies including Marsulex Inc., a Toronto-based environmental services company, BIOX, a biofuels company and Ag Growth International, a leading manufacturer of grain handling, conditioning and storage equipment. He has 22 years of experience in the private equity and merchant banking industries, and ten years experience in consulting.

Warren Libby Director

Warren Libby has over 30 years experience in the chemicals industry. He held several senior positions at Ciba-Geigy Canada starting in 1976, and went on to serve as President of Novartis Crop Protection Canada then as President of Syngenta Crop Protection Canada. Starting in 2001 he helped grow Engage Agro into one of Canada’s leading suppliers of chemicals to the specialty crop markets. In 2003 he sold his share in Engage to create a new company called Evergreen Bio-ceuticals Inc. Mr. Libby is currently President of Evergreen Bio-ceuticals Inc. and co-owner of Wellington Agribusiness Developments Inc. He has also served as past Chairman of the Crop Protection Institute of Canada, Vice-Chair of the Agricultural Leadership Trust, and a member of a wide variety of industry committees and industry boards.

Neil Reid PhD • Director

Dr. Neil Reid was the co-founder, Senior VP Strategy Development and General Manager of MDS Sciex from 1974-1999. At present, Dr. Reid is a senior management consultant. Until October 2005, Dr. Reid was Senior VP of Protana Inc., a company formed from the merger of MDS Proteomics Inc. and Optimol Inc. (of which Dr. Reid served as the President and CEO from January 2003 until the merger). Dr. Reid also co-founded MDS Proteomics Inc. in 2000 holding the positions of CTO from December 2000-April 2001 and Senior VP from 2001 until its merger with Optimol Inc.

Paul Thomson PhD • Director

Paul Thomson, with over 30 years in the Ag Business was most recently VP Product Development at Vive Crop Protection. Dr. Thomson held a variety of R&D and Business Development positions at Chemtura Corporation and Arysta LifeScience. He holds a Doctorate in Chemistry and an M.B.A. from McMaster University.
